Lesley Sharp, Finn Bennett and Tom Mothersdale cast in Royal Court's The Woods

Casting has been announced for the Royal Court's upcoming production of Robert Alan Evans' play, The Woods.

Lesley Sharp will star in the piece alongside Tom Mothersdale and Finn Bennett. Royal Court associate director Lucy Morrison directs The Woods, which is running in the Jerwood Theatre Upstairs from 5 September to 13 October.

Naomi Dawson designs the play, which has lighting from Anthony Arblaster, music and sound from Tom Gibbon and movement direction from Vicki Igbokwe. The piece is set in a cabin deep in the woods where a lost boy is buried in the snow.

Alan Evans' other work for the Royal Court includes A Girl in a Car with a Man and Crumble's Search for Christmas at the West Yorkshire Playhouse.
