Jennifer Saunders returns to the stage in Lady Windermere's Fan

The actress will star in Kathy Burke’s production

Casting has been announced for Kathy Burke's upcoming production of Lady Windermere's Fan.

Jennifer Saunders is returning to the West End for the first time in 20 years to guest star in the production opposite Samantha Spiro and Kevin Bishop.

Spiro will play Erlynne, Bishop will play Lord Darlington and Saunders will star as the Duchess of Berwick.

Saunders has previously worked with Burke on TV shows including Absolutely Fabulous, the comedian and writer also penned the book for the Spice Girls musical Viva Forever.

The piece runs in Dominic Dromgoole's season of Oscar Wilde plays at the Vaudeville Theatre, which begins in October with A Woman of No Importance. Other shows in the season include De Profundis adapted by Frank McGuiness.

Lady Windermere's Fan runs at the Vaudeville Theatre from 22 January to 7 April, with previews from 12 January.
