James Corden is reportedly in negotiations to return to Broadway next year to star as Pseudolus in a revival of Stephen Sondheim's A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum.

Speaking at this week's press opening of Miss Saigon at the Prince Edward Theatre, Corden told WhatsOnStage he's keen to do a musical "within two years".

Tony nominee Alex Timbers (Rocky) is in talks to direct A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, which is based on the farces of the Roman playwright Plautus and includes the songs "Comedy Tonight," "Lovely," and "Everybody Ought to Have a Maid."
