Harry Potter and the Cursed Child director John Tiffany has told WhatsOnStage that the Broadway transfer of the multi-award winning play is "all sorted".

Tiffany was speaking last night after he accepted the Best Director Olivier Award for his work on the show which he said had "been an honour".

The director also confirmed reports that the play is ready for New York, adding that the preparations have been "really good".

He said: "It's all sorted. We've got the Lyric Theatre, and I think we're almost there with the actors. We open next year, spring."

The play opened at the Palace Theatre in July last year to rave reviews, and broke the record for most Olivier Awards last night, winning nine out of a possible 11.

Noma Dumezweni, who one the Best Actress in a Supporting Role award for playing Hermione, also told WhatsOnStage she would "love" to continue to play the part on Broadway.
