Drywrite's Fleabag to return for a second series on BBC
Phoebe Waller-Bridge's black comedy started life as a one-woman stage show at the Edinburgh Fringe
Phoebe Waller-Bridge has confirmed that her comedy Fleabag, which started life as a one-woman show at the Edinburgh Fringe before being adapted for BBC Three, will return for a second series.
Talking to Radio Times, Waller-Bridge said that she would only bring it back if she had an idea that was good enough, adding "I think I have one... We are all trying to make it work and have the same team back."
The writer, who created the piece with director Vicky Jones, said that the plan is to shoot another series in November to be broadcast in 2018.
In his review for WhatsOnStage, Michael Coveney described the show as "a sharp-edged gem". It later played two sold-out runs at the Soho Theatre.
The TV adaptation starred Waller-Bridge alongside Sian Clifford, Bill Paterson and Olivia Colman.
