First look: A bloody Kit Harington as Doctor Faustus

The first production picture of the ”Game of Thrones” actor in Marlowe’s play has been released ahead of opening night next week

A production image of Kit Harington starring as Doctor Faustus at the Duke of York's theatre has been released.

See below for the image, which shows Harington in the titular role covered in blood flanked by co-stars Craig Stein and Tom Edden. Jamie Lloyd's production which opens next week.

Harington plays Faustus, a man who barters with the Devil over his soul in return for power and wealth.

Harington plays opposite Jenna Russell who stars as Mephistopheles. The version will include two acts by Colin Teevan, replacing the middle acts to offer a fresh perspective.

Doctor Faustus runs at the Duke of York's from 25 April until 25 June.
