English Touring Theatre have announced that Richard Twyman will become the company's new artistic director.

Twyman was associate director (international) at the Royal Court Theatre and will take up the post from November 2016. He said: "During my three years at the Royal Court Theatre I have had the privilege of working with artists from all over the world, and I look forward to also bringing a spirit of internationalism to the work ETT does."

Twyman's directing credits include You For Me For You, Fireworks and The Djinns of Eidgah. He has created work for HighTide Festival as well as work at the RSC, Theatre Royal Bath and the Bush Theatre. He was associate director on Michael Boyd's Histories Cycle.
