Cy Coleman revue Rhythm of Life comes to St James

The cast includes Marti Webb and Debbie Kurup

Marti Webb, Debbie Kurup, Cedric Neal and John Barr will star in a new song cycle celebrating Cy Coleman at the St James Theatre studio next month.

Rhythm of Life will run for two nights, on 10 and 11 July, and include five Coleman songs "never performed before in London".

Cy Coleman, who died in 2004, was a Tony Award-winning Broadway composer whose musicals included Sweet Charity, On The Twentieth Century, City Of Angels and Barnum.

Songs featured in the show include: "Witchcraft", "The Best is Yet to Come", "The Colours of My Life", "The Oldest Profession", "You Can Always Count on Me", "Big Spender" and "Nobody Does It Like Me".

The musical director is Michael Webborn.

Meet the cast

Marti Webb recently starred in a revival of Tell Me On a Sunday, the one-woman show written specially for her by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Don Black, at the St James Theatre which transferred to the West End's Duchess Theatre.

Debbie Kurup was nominated Best Supporting Actress in the Oliviers and WhatsOnStage Awards for The Bodyguard at the Adelphi and has just starred as Reno Sweeney in a UK tour of Anything Goes.

Cedric Neal starred on Broadway and at Regent's Park Open Air Theatre as Sportin' Life in the Gershwins' Porgy & Bess.

John Barr played Ed Kleban in A Class Act and Dr Parker in Batboy the Musical in the West End.
