Full cast announced for Shopping and F***ing

Full casting has been announced for the upcoming revival of Mark Ravenhill's play Shopping and F***ing at the Lyric Theatre, Hammersmith.

Alex Arnold (Crushed Shells & Mud) will star as Robbie, Ashley McGuire (Our Country's Good) will play Brian, David Moorst (First Light) will play Gary, Sam Spruell (Clybourne Park) will play Mark and Sophie Wu (Punk Rock) will play Lulu.

The production marks 20 years since the show's original premiere at the Royal Court Theatre Upstairs. Lyric artistic director Sean Holmes directs the play, which follows three disaffected young adults and looks at the effect of consumerism as a replacement for moral codes.

The play caused a stir at its premiere in 1996, with some people shocked by its sexually violent content.

Shopping and F***ing runs at the Lyric Hammersmith from 12 October to 4 November, with previews from 7 October.
