Cast: Royal Court's Liberian Girl, Oh What A Lovely War and Beautiful Thing

Three major stage productions in 2015 have recently announced full casting

Casting has been announced for Liberian Girl at the Royal Court, a new play by first time writer Diana Nneka Atuona.

Directed by Matthew Dunster, it follows one teenage girl’s story of survival during the Liberian civil war.

The cast includes Cecilia Noble (The Amen Corner) and Fraser James (Mogadishu, The Frontline).

They will be joined by Landry Adelard, Michael Ajao, Mariéme Diouf, Edward Kagutuzi, Valentine Olukoga, Weruche Opia and Juma Sharkah.

Liberian Girl, which runs from 7 to 31 January before transferring to the Bussey Building in Peckham and the Bernie Grant Arts Centre in Tottenham is part of the Royal Court's Jerwood New Playwrights programme.


In other casting news:

Ian Reddington (EastEnders) and Christopher Villiers (Emmerdale) will join Wendi Peters (Coronation Street) in the ensemble of Theatre Royal Stratford East's production of Oh What A Lovely War on its national tour in 2015. Also in the cast are Emma Crossley, Marcus Ellard, Alex Giannini, Richard Glaves, Lauren Hood, Alice Bailey Johnson, William Oxborrow, Mark Prendergast, Neil Stewart and Bleu Woodward.

– Full casting has been announced for Nikolai Foster's anniversary production of Jonathan Harvey's Beautiful Thing, which will return to the UK in 2015 with an 18-week tour. Joining Charlie Brooks as Sandra are Gerard McCarthy (Hollyoaks) as Tony and Vanessa Babirye (Our Girl) as Leah, alongside Rob Ellis and Natalie Law.
