Cast announced for Mike Bartlett's Bull at Young Vic

Bartlett’s play is a companion to his 2009 hit ”Cock”

Casting for the upcoming Young Vic production of Mike Bartlett's Bull has been announced.

The play – a companion piece to Bartlett's award-winning 2009 play Cock – premiered at Sheffield Theatres last year before transferring to New York for a short run.

Bull sees three desperate colleagues fight for their jobs, as office politics are played out in an office-come-bullfighting ring.

Adam James, who recently appeared in Bartlett's King Charles III, Eleanor Matsuura (The Changeling), Neil Stuke (American Buffalo) and Sam Troughton (Three Sisters) will star in the new production, which is directed by Clare Lizzimore.

Bull runs in the Young Vic's Maria studio from 8 January to 7 February 2015.

Also announced for the Maria today is a revival of Caryl Chuchill's A Number, which runs from 3 July to 8 August 2015. A co-production with the Nuffield, Southampton, Michael Longhurst will direct a cast featuring real-life father and son John and Lex Shrapnel.

And in the Clare Studio, three short plays by Tennessee WilliamsAuto-da-Fé, The Strangest Kind of Romance and Summer at the Lake – will run from 11 to 21 February 2015, directed by Finn Beames.
