The musical based on the life of Carole King is now in its third year in the West End

Beautiful – The Carole King Musical celebrated its second birthday at the Aldwych Theatre last night, so we popped along to chat to the cast and guests on stage after the show.

VIPs including veteran entertainer Tony Christie, comedian Jason Manford and Countdown's Rachel Riley joined Cassidy Janson, who plays the titular role, and other cast members to celebrate the beginning of the show's third year in the West End.

Beautiful tells the true story of singer and musician Carole King and her rise to stardom as one of the most successful solo acts in pop music history.

King wrote songs such as "(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman", "Take Good Care of My Baby" and "We Gotta Get Out of This Place". The musical has a book by Douglas McGrath with words and music by Gerry Goffin, King, Barry Mann and Cynthia Weil.

Beautiful – The Carole King Musical is currently booking at the Aldwych Theatre until 22 July 2017.
