The cast has been announced for the new revival of Stephen Sondheim's Assassins, which opens at Pleasance Theatre in March.

The show's cast will be composed of Jason Kajdi (Our House UK tour) as Balladeer/Lee Harvey Oswald, Andrew Pepper (Mary Poppins) as Charles Guiteau, Alexander McMorran (A Little Night Music) as John Wilkes Booth, Abigail Williams (Elegies for Angels Punks & Raging Queens) as Sara Jane Moore, Alfie Parker (School of Rock) as Samuel Byck, Conor McFarlane (The Mikado) as Leon Czolgosz, Jack Reitman (Love's Labour's Lost) as Giuseppe Zangara, Peter Watts (Rubber) as Propietor and Toby Hine (The Kissing Dance) as John Hinckley.

Directed by Louise Bakker, the show follows the attempts by assassins to murder US presidents throughout history. It includes classic numbers like "Everybody's Got The Right" and "The Ballad of Booth". This new version of the musical will also reflect the current political climate in the US.

The musical is based on an idea by Charles Gilbert Jr, with original orchestration by Michael Starobin and libretto by John Weidman.

It was recently announced that the National Theatre production of Sondheim's Follies will return to the National Theatre after its original run in late 2017. A new production of Company with Rosalie Craig in the newly gender-switched role of Bobbi, will open at the Gielgud Theatre in the West End in September.

Assassins runs at Pleasance Theatre from 20 March to 8 April.
