Alan Alda's Marie Curie play gets UK premiere at Tabard

”Radiance” centres on the Nobel Prize-winner’s turbulent personal life

A play written by Emmy-winning actor Alan Alda about the lift of Marie Curie will receive its UK premiere in London next year.

Radiance: The Passion of Marie Curie runs at the Tabard Theatre in Chiswick from 4 to 28 February 2015.

The play, which is directed by Mark Giesser, premiered in Los Angeles in 2011. It centres on Curies's Nobel Prize-winning work with her husband Pierre in the field of radiation, and her subsequent love affair with the physicist Paul Langevin.

According to press material, "Legendary seven-time Emmy Award-winning actor, screenwriter and bestselling author Alan Alda, in his first full-length stage drama, beautifully captures the emotional turmoil of a woman forced to choose between love and her life's work."

Casting for the production is still to be announced.
