Full casting has been announced for the upcoming revival of Emlyn Williams' Accolade at the St James Theatre, which runs as part of the One Stage season for commercial producers.

The production was first staged by award-winning director Blanche McIntyre at the Finborough Theatre in 2011.

Emlyn Williams' 1950 play sees the awarding of a knighthood to author Will Trenting (played by Alexander Hanson) place his private life in the full glare of the media.

Hanson – recently seen in Stephen Ward and currently starring in Single Spies at the Rose Theatre, Kingston – leads the cast alongside Abigail Cruttenden (The Seagull, Twelfth Night with the RSC).

The cast also features Bruce Alexander (The Tempest), Sam Clemmett (Nivelli’s War), Claire Cox (Macbeth at Shakespeare's Globe), Daniel Crossley (Singin’ in the Rain), Olivia Darnley (Wolf Hall/Bring Up the Bodies), Jay Taylor (Troilus and Cressida) and Jay Villiers (The Winslow Boy).

Accolade opens on 17 November 2014 (previews from 12 November 2014) for a limited run until 13 December 2015.

It's produced by Nicola Seed (who also produced the Finborough run) and is the final production – following Breeders and Uncle Vanya – in Stage One's One Stage season.
