Robert Lindsay, Carrie Hope Fletcher and more in rehearsals for A Christmas Carol

We popped into rehearsals for London Musical Theatre Orchestra's production of Alan Menken's musical

On Monday, the Lyceum Theatre will host the London Musical Theatre Orchestra as they present Alan Menken's musical adaptation of Charles Dickens' festive classic, A Christmas Carol. We popped in to rehearsals to find out how the cast were getting on.

Three-time Olivier Award-winner Robert Lindsay will star as Scrooge, alongside sisters-in-law Carrie Hope Fletcher and Giovanna Fletcher, who play Emily and Mrs Cratchit.

Further casting includes Madalena Alberto (Evita) as the Ghost of Christmas Past, Hugh Maynard (Miss Saigon) as the Ghost of Christmas Present, Norman Bowman (Murder Ballad) as Jacob Marley, Peter Polycarpou (Les Miserables) as Mr Fezziwig, and Alex Gaumond (Dirty Rotten Scoundrels) as Bob Cratchit.

A Christmas Carol has music by Alan Menken (Aladdin), lyrics by Lynn Ahrens (Ragtime), and a book by Ahrens and Mike Ockrent. It premiered on stage at Madison Square Garden in 1994 and was performed there annually until 2003.

The production will feature the 36-strong London Musical Theatre Orchestra who made their professional debut with State Fair at Cadogan Hall earlier this month.

A Christmas Carol will play the Lyceum Theatre, London on Monday 19 December 2016.
