Superstar winner Ben Forster will play Agustin Magaldi – Eva Peron’s first love – when Evita returns to the West End later this month.

Forster, who rose to fame in 2012 after winning the ITV show, will star alongside Marti Pellow, who plays Che, and Madalena Alberto, who portrays Argentina's iconic First Lady, for a limited run of 55 performances at the newly refurbished Dominion Theatre.

Evita charts the story of Eva Peron, wife of former Argentine dictator Juan Peron, from her humble beginnings through to extraordinary wealth, power and iconic status.

Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice's musical features songs including "Don’t Cry For Me Argentina", "On This Night of a Thousand Stars", "You Must Love Me", and "Another Suitcase in Another Hall".

Forster, who played the title role in the recent stadium tour of Jesus Christ Superstar, said of his new role: "It is a huge privilege to take on such a fantastic part and in such a brilliant show."
