Natascha McElhone stars in Trevor Nunn's Fatal Attraction

The actress will play ‘bunny boiler’ Alex Forrest in Nunn’s production, which opens at Theatre Royal Haymarket in March

Natasha McElhone will play 'bunny boiler' Alex Forrest in Trevor Nunn's production of Fatal Attraction which opens at Theatre Royal Haymarket on 25 March (previews from 8 March).

The world premiere of James Dearden's adaptation of the 1987 film, for which he wrote the screenplay, will see McElhone take the role that Glenn Close played.

The story centres on successful New York lawyer Dan Gallagher (played by Michael Douglas on screen), a successful New York lawyer whose fling with Alex Forrest turns into a living nightmare when she ruthlessly pursues him.

Natascha McElhone‘s stage credits include Honour (Wyndham's), Richard III and A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Open Air Theatre) and The Count of Monte Cristo (Manchester Royal Exchange). Her film credits include Surviving Picasso, The Truman Show, The Devil’s Own and The Sea, whilst TV credits include Revelations, The Company and Californication.

Producer Robert Fox told Bax Bamigboye in the Mail that he "couldn't be more thrilled to have Natascha in that role".

Further casting is still to be announced for the production, which is booking until 21 June 2014.
