Sam Mendes' WhatsOnStage award-nominated production of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory at Theatre Royal, Drury Lane, has been extended until 30 May 2015. Tickets for the show's new booking period go on sale on 7 February 2014.

David Greig's adaption of Roald Dahl's children's classic features songs by Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman, in a story that transports its audience into a world of magic and wonder.

It has also been announced that the show has broken box office records for the second time, following takings of over £1 million in November last year, taking a total of £1,080,260 in the week commencing 30 December 2013.

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory stars Douglas Hodge as the eccentric Willy Wonka alongside a cast which includes Niger Planer as Grandpa Joe, Clive Carter as Mr Salt, Jasna Ivir as Mrs Gloop, Paul J Medford as Mr Beauregarde, Iris Robrets as Mrs Teavee, Billy Boyle as Grandpa George, Alex Clatworthy As Mrs Bucket, Roni Page as Grandma Josphine, Myra Sands as Grandma Georgina and Jack Shalloo as Mr Bucket.

Twelve Angry Men has also extended its West End run by two weeks, now running until 15 March 2014.

The play, which opened at the Garrick Theatre in November 2013, is based on the three-time Academy Award nominated 1957 film, produced by and starring Henry Fonda.

The story, written by Reginald Rose, follows an 18 year-old-boy on trial for the murder of his own father with a twelve-strong jury left to decide his fate. It has a cast including Martin Shaw, Jeff Fahey, Nick Moran and Robert Vaughn.
