Casting has been announced for the first UK stage adaptation of Agatha Christie's The Mirror Crack'd from Side to Side, which premieres next spring.

Directed by Melly Still (The Lovely Bones), the show (titled The Mirror Crack'd) is a co-production between Wales Millenium Centre and Wiltshire Creative and will open at Salisbury Playhouse before touring to Dublin, Cambridge and Cardiff. It is adapted for the stage by Rachel Wagstaff.

Susie Blake (Wicked, Mrs Brown's Boys) will play Miss Marple in the thriller, which follows the iconic detective as she tries to untangle a web of lies in a sleepy English village.

Blake said: "I'm absolutely thrilled to be taking on this part, I've been waiting for an opportunity to play a role like this my whole career. I loved watching the great Margaret Rutherford as Miss Marple and always wanted to be her when I was growing up."

Blake is joined by Simon Shepherd (Peak Practice) who plays Dermot Craddock in the show. Further casting is to be announced.

The production has set design by Richard Kent, costume design by Dinah Collin, lighting design by Malcolm Rippeth and music and sound design by Jon Nicholls. The show opens on 15 February.
