Bedlam Theatre Launch Programme & There’s Still More to See

Bedlam Theatre will this summer house its renowned selection of high quality theatre in a really friendly atmosphere, with many returning companies and some old favourite shows.

The River People, who are known as one of those companies, will be bringing their new show Little Matter their own venue, Bedlam Chambers; a self-contained theatre wagon to be parked near the main venue. At the time of the launch though, the wagon had yet to arrive, so onto the showcase.

Introduced by Debbie, the venue manager and Camille, the Bedlam press officer, the showcase featured extracts from Scary Gorgeous by RashDash in collaboration Not Now Bernard, Remember This and The Improverts from Bedlam’s residents Edinburgh University Theatre Company, Debbie Does My Dad by Bobby Gordon and Anton’s Uncles by Theatre Movement Bazaar. The showcase ended with a bespoke Bedlam Theatre version of Duck Soup’s song “Barbra Streisand”.

Other shows to look out for at the Bristo Place venue include The Perils of Love and Gravity, Transformer, Timothy, Belleville Rendez-Vous, Hit Comet, Bluebird, Vertigo, Malfi, The Alchemystorium and To Avoid Precipice Cling To Rock.

Based on the venue’s strong track record, there are bound to be some award winners in there.
