Spooks on Stage?

Ghostly manifestations and the detection of such was promised for a number of our theatres earlier this year when television’s Most Haunted was billed to materialise live in the playhouse as opposed to just being on our living-room screens. On Wednesday 28 April the Cliffs Pavilion in Southend will – we hope – yield some of its stories and things which are not part of the normal backstage activity but which still go bump in the night. The night of fright is also to be experienced in and around Norwich’s Theatre Royal on Tuesday 4 May. There’s been a theatre on or near the site of the modern building for over 200 years, so this could be particularly interesting.
