WIN! tickets to see Oleanna at York Theatre Royal

WhatsOnStage logo
Authored by Purlitzer prizewinning playwright David Mamet, Oleanna is a thrilling power struggle of status and sexual politics about a university professor accused by his female student.

The play has been adapted from the original American setting to a British university, particularly resonant following the Browne Report and its impact on funding for higher education. Kevin McGown will play pompous academic John and Claire Louise Cordwell will portray Carol, a mousy, confused cipher; described as ‘Mamet’s most fully realised female character’.

The audience are invited to decide for themselves: who is right and who is wrong? But it soon becomes clear that nothing is black and white.
