Alf Ramsey returns to North East

Alf Ramsey returns to North East The comedy drama Alf Ramsey Knew My Grandfather runs at Darlington Civic Theatre from 24 to 27 July.

The play has already previously sold out at Durham Gala Theatre and transferred to Newcastle’s Theatre Royal.

The story is about the team of miners who won the first world cup in 1909, all profits from the Darlington Civic run will go to the 1883 DFC cause to rebuild Darlington Football Club.

Written by Ed Waugh and Trevor Wood, and directed by ITV The Bill star Mark Wingett, Alf Ramsey is about the men and women of West Auckland overcoming the odds to succeed.

Alf Ramsey Knew My Grandfather, Darlington Civic Theatre, from Tuesday 24 July, to Friday 27 July. Tickets cost from £10 to £20. Box office: 01325 486555.
