A Nightmare on Lime Street (Liverpool)

David Guest comes to Liverpool in A Nightmare on Lime Street at the Royal Court Theatre. This is Fred Lawless’ fourth consecutive Christmas show at the Royal Court Theatre and is definitely not one to miss. The latest addition to a string of hit shows creates a great atmosphere as horror becomes funny and incredibly crazy! The cast alone includes David Guest starring as the Monster, Michael Starke and Mark Moraghan.

As Doctor Frankenstein sets to make his latest ‘creation’ the scariest monster that has ever lived, Liverpool is suddenly awakened by outrageous and horrifying movements which will frighten even the bravest of Vampire Slayers!

A Nightmare on Lime Street brings full Scouse character and humour to the stage, constantly bringing the laughs from the entire crowd throughout the whole production. The jokes are constant and were always delivered with true enthusiasm as well as all songs lifting the show further. Jamie Hampson, daughter of actors Lynn Francis and Michael Starke really follows in her parents’ footsteps as she shows a truly great performance with a powerful voice, really keeping the show within the family.

Sadly David Guest has faced illness and is unable to make some shows but his replacement Anthony Watson delivers the jokes as best as he can, despite some being aimed at David himself. Lenny Wood is an amazing Egor and understudy to the Doctor as he returns in his eighth production at the Royal Court. The music was fantastic and even the costumes and choreography is very entertaining. You will never look at Liverpool Lime Street Station the same way again!

Lawless’ show deserves a 5 star rating as an unmissable production this Christmas time with a hard working cast who really give their all to make an entertaining show really exciting!
