Showstopper! Brings Improvisation to the Lowry, 10 July

Audiences are used to seeing musicals which have many writers and take years to get to the stage. Showstopper – The Improvised Musical  is just that; a brand new musical created from scratch at each performance.

This award-winning production, has played sell-out seasons in London’s West End and at the Edinburgh festival and it arrives at the Lowry next month.

A writer has just one hour to create a hit show to impress his producer. Stuck for ideas, he takes audience suggestions for a title, storylines and musical styles that they’d like to see in the show. These suggestions help to create a show on the spot, as the all-singing, all-dancing cast improvises with unpredictable  results.

The show comes to Salford following sell-out runs at the Edinburgh fringe in 2008 and 2009, and nine months of sell-out Monday nights at the Kings Head over the 2008/9 season.

Showstopper! runs at the Lowry on 10 July and for further details, please visit the  website.
