New productions set for Royal Court

Royal Court Liverpool has confirmed its spring season with a new adaptation of Funny Money by Ray Cooney opening at the end of the month.

Renowned international director Leslie Lawton returns to the city for the first time in thirty years and his long standing friendship with Cooney has allowed him to adjust the script. The cast includes Mark Moraghan, Neil Caple, Eithne Browne and Alan Stocks.

Mike Yeaman’s Lucky Numbers follows Lawton’s reworking of Funny Money, which is set in an ordinary suburban house and is a story about a grandparent winning the lottery.

A new comedy from Fred Lawless (Merry Ding Dong) also appears in April. A Fistful Of Collars is set in a dry cleaners which is run by a group of middle aged women who are trying to earn an honest wage.

The women run Pressing Matters but get into a whole load of trouble when the three of them accidentally kidnap Colleen Rooney, wife of England and Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney.
