Coliseum Present Strictly Come Culture, 23 July

Oldham Coliseum Theatre is holiding their third public performance within the Coliseum’s three year project, The Growing Stage.

The aim of The Growing Stage project is to bring about a change in young people’s lives in the Oldham area. The creative skills that participants will learn and develop are transferable for any future project activity that they are involved with.

This new performance piece, Strictly Come Culture, has been developed by the theatre’s DigiLAB and TheatreLAB participants. Strictly Come Culture is a performance art installation about the extremes of Britain’s popular culture and will be held at the University Campus Oldham.

The audience will follow the piece around the space as you would with a gallery installation, only our art will move and interact with the public. There will be both live and digital performance pieces and the audience will be able to vote for their favourite piece in a game show style.

The Big Lottery Fund distributes half of the National Lottery good cause funding across the UK. The Fund is committed to bringing real improvements to communities and the lives of people most in need.

Strictly Come Culture is at University Campus Oldham from 23- 24 July.
