I still can't get over Richard Eyre's decision to make everyone in this Sicilian village Irish! Bizarre, and the only thing that is memorable about this rare misfire at the National
I find myself surprised to say it, but the most accurate review of this play is to be found in the August the 8th edition of the Daily Express by Simon Edge. Forget the Guardian, the Independent, the Standard and the Telegraph - Simon Edge is absolutely spot on. Richard Eyre got it totally wrong - "more stodge than lemon zest in this Irish-Italian stew" is a good summation. 2/10 See Me!
