Auditions have been announced for the West End production of Lin-Manuel Miranda's musical Hamilton.

In a notice posted on the show's official Twitter feed, those interested are requested to register by sending a current photo, any performance footage, location and CV to hamiltoncasting@camack.co.uk or by post. Auditions will then be held over the next few months with recalls in the spring/summer.

Male and female auditionees in their 20s and 30s are sought from all ethnic backgrounds. The production is also looking for singers who can rap or hip-hop dancers, with rehearsals starting in September 2019, with the contract ending November 2020.

Reflecting Miranda's core requirement for the cast of the show to be ethnically diverse, the audition notice says: "While artists of all ethnicities will be considered for the production, it is an intrinsic requirement of the show for the majority of the company to reflect a range of BAME backgrounds."

Miranda's musical opened at the Victoria Palace Theatre in December 2017 to a raft of five-star reviews, including from our critic Sarah Crompton who said: "It is one of those rare shows where each part clicks perfectly into every other."
