BBC to broadcast Donmar Warehouse's Shakespeare Trilogy

Directed by Phyllida Lloyd, the productions starred Harriet Walter, Jade Anouka and Sheila Atim

Phyllida Lloyd's all-female Shakespeare Trilogy will be broadcast on the BBC this year.

The trilogy comprised of Julius Caesar (first seen at the Donmar in 2012), Henry IV ( 2014) and a new production of The Tempest. All three plays were first performed together in a new purpose-built theatre behind King's Cross station in 2016.

Directed by Lloyd the productions featured a company led by Harriet Walter and also featuring Jade Anouka, Sheila Atim and Martina Laird.

Julius Caesar will air on BBC4 in 2018, with Henry IV and The Tempest available to watch on the iPlayer.

They join the previously announced Almeida production of Hamlet, directed by Robert Icke and starring Andrew Scott in the title role, which will be broadcast on BBC2 later this year.
