Interview with David Eldridge and the cast of Beginning

David Eldridge’s play transfers from the National Theatre into the West End

'There are so many plays about the end of the affair that it is a pleasure to see one about the very start – especially when that play is as honest, funny and good-hearted as David Eldridge's Beginning.'

So writes Sarah Crompton in her five-star review of this new play's premiere at the Dorfman Theatre in October.

The piece, which stars Sam Troughton and Justine Mitchell, charts, in real time, an encounter between two individuals striking up a conversation at the end of a house-warming party.

It now transfers into the West End for a ten-week run at the Ambassadors Theatre and we caught up with Eldridge, Troughton and Mitchell to find out more about the play and its themes.

Beginning runs at the Ambassadors Theatre from 23 January until 24 March, with previews from now.
