Casting announced for Thousand Miles of History with Adam Riches

Full casting has been announced for the premiere of A Thousand Miles Of History at The Bussey Building in  Peckham, which stars Edinburgh Comedy Award-winning comedian Adam Riches as artist Andy Warhol.

The play, which opens on 11 March 2013 (previews from 4 March) for a four week season, is written and directed by Harold Finley.

In the 1980’s “SAMO Is Dead” appeared on buildings across lower
Manhattan when teenage Jean-Michel Basquiat killed off his graffiti
phenomenon and launched a fine art career. As Basquiat moved out of the
streets and into the galleries of Soho, so did his new friend Keith
Haring, having caught the art world’s attention with his subway
drawings.

Together, they rapidly became international art superstars,
and befriended the legendary Andy Warhol. The lives and work of all
three artists became intertwined.

Joining Riches in the cast are: Michael Walters (Jean-Michel Basquiat), Simon Ginty
(Keith Haring), Joseph Mydell (Gerard Basquiat), Lisa Caruccio Came
(Mary Boone), Miles Mitchell (Juan Dubose), James Kermack (Mr Universe),
Emmanuel Imani (Fab 5 Freddy/Shenge).

A Thousand Miles Of History has been developed at Soho Theatre and Lincoln Center Theatre, New York. The Bussey Building, a former factory, is now studios for visual artists and hosts the Royal Court’s theatre local productions.
