The Venue off Leicester Square, which has been dark since the conclusion of the extended run of antipodean comedy The Vegemite Tales in October, will reopen in the new year with the West End debut of Las Vegas impersonator Greg London.

The Icons in London - billed as a musical extravaganza featuring “the music legends and the movie stars that we all know and love” – is scheduled for a limited season from 9 January to 24 February 2007.

Backed by a support band, singers and dancers, Greg London will perform impressions of personalities including Arnold Schwarzenegger, Rod Stewart, Austin Powers, Ozzy Osbourne, Robbie Williams, Sammy Davies Jr, Johnny Cash, David Bowie, Louis Armstrong and the Muppets’ Kermit the Frog (pictured).

In addition to Las Vegas, London has performed his earlier piece The Greg Show around the world, at public and private events as well as for US military forces. His CD release of patriotic anthems, Song of America, was dedicated to “our fighting men and women”. Tickets for The Icons in London range from £15 to £37.50. Booking is now open.
