Michael Sheen is due to return to the Donmar Warehouse next summer in Peter Morgan’s new play, Frost/Nixon, in which he’ll play British TV presenter David Frost who, in 1977, interviewed the disgraced former US president Richard Nixon. Sheen triumphed at the Donmar in 2003 when he took the title role in Caligula, which earned him the Evening Standard and Critics’ Circle awards for Best Actor as well as Whatsonstage.com and Olivier nominations. Donmar artistic director Michael Grandage, who directed Caligula, will direct Sheen in the Morgan play, part of the theatre’s new season, full details for which are likely to be announced next week.
