Dame Maggie Breathes Life into West End???

By • West End
Dame Maggie Smith is planning to return to the West End next year in the premiere of a new play by David Hare. Titled The Breath of Life, the drama is reportedly about two women who have been involved with the same man. Smith was last seen in the 1999 West End production of Alan Bennett's The Lady in the Van, directed by NT director-designate Nicholas Hytner. A director hasn't yet been named for the new project, but it will be produced by Robert Fox. Hare is one of the UK's leading contemporary playwrights. His many award-winning plays include The Blue Room, Amy's View, Skylight, Via Dolorosa and The Secret Rapture.
