Goodness gracious, whoever next? There's been a run on supergroups from the 1970s and 80s whipping up stage musicals, all no doubt hoping to emulate the phenomenal success that Abba has had with Mamma Mia. We've already had the Pet Shop Boys (Closer to Heaven::E882991219919} and Queen (whose We Will Rock You opens at the Dominion in May), as well as rumours that projects from the Kinks, Madness and Elvis Costello will follow soon. Now we can add to that rumour list a possible musical from bat-eating shock-rockers Kiss. Frontman Gene Simmons says the Kiss musical won't be wholly autobiographical but will feature actors in reminiscent Kiss garb (think leather jumpsuits and face paint) who embrace the rock ethos. Simmons has been in talks with Hedwig and the Angry Inch writer Stephen Trask about project.
