Sienna Miller & Kelly Brook Join Old Vic’s 24 Hour

The Old Vic has announced the initial participants for its seventh annual fundraising theatre challenge, The 24 Hour Plays Celebrity Gala, which this year takes place on Sunday 21 November 2010.

Star names lined up to take part include actresses Sienna Miller and Kelly Brook, while the writing team will boast comedy specialists Richard Curtis and Jessica Hynes.

Other actors scheduled to take part this year include: Ronni Ancona, Richard Armitage, Niamh Cusack, Samuel Barnett, Toby Jones, Paterson Joseph, Ralf Little, Lesley Manville, Tim Pigott-Smith, Rupert Evans and Dan Stevens.

The event, which will be compared by John Cleese, provides a unique opportunity to see work by leading actors,
writers and directors as the team is challenged to write, rehearse and
perform six short plays in just 24 hours on the Old Vic stage. The
process begins on the evening of Saturday 20 November and culminates in
the performance to a full house on Sunday 21 November at 7.30pm. The
night finishes for the participants with The 25th Hour post-show party.

Old Vic artistic director Kevin Spacey said: “We are thrilled to be working with such a remarkable collection of artists again this year and that John Cleese has agreed to host this unique event. It’s a high-adrenaline evening but every year some great work is born on that stage.”

Tickets, which cost £250, £125 or £75, are on sale now.
