Penny Arcade brings Bitch! Dyke! Faghag! Whore! to Albany

Penny Arcade’s Bitch! Dyke! Faghag! Whore! is transferring to the Albany Theatre in Deptford next month following runs at the Arcola Tent and Old Vic Tunnels.

Arcade has been causing a stir on the
performance art scene since the 1960s. She began performing in live
theatre events and films in New York when still a teenager and has
been performing solo monologues since the 1980s.

A
celebration of sex, freedom, comedy, politics and art, the show features monologues
performed by Penny Arcade punctuated with an “audience dance break”
and erotic go-go dancing.

The Albany run, from 15 to 23 December 2012, will coincide with the venue’s 30th anniversary.

A spokesperson told Whatsonstage.com: “It’s exciting and fitting that Penny should perform her best known show covering themes of censorship and LGBT issues at the Albany … the venue’s CEO, Gavin Barlow, was a founder of Queer Up North plus the venue was one of the original performance spaces for Gay Sweatshop.”
