Sun To Set On Over The Moon, Dec 1

It has been confirmed that Over the Moon, the comedy that brought Joan
Collins
back to the West End for the first time in a decade, is to close
early, on Dec 1, at the Old Vic, after a run of 8 weeks, including previews.
It opened Oct 15, following previews from Oct 1, and was originally booking
to Jan 12, 2002, when it was due to make way for the Royal National
Theatre/Market Theatre, Johnannesburg revival of Athol Fugard’s The
Island
, which opens there on Jan 22, following previews from Jan 15.

The Collins comedy, written by Ken Ludwig and originally produced on
Broadway under the title Moon Over Buffalo where it starred Carol
Burnett, had already lost co-star Frank Langella, who departed Nov 3, and
was replaced by Michael Cochrane, an actor best known for his role in
Radio 4’s The Archers.
