John Godber's hit West End ski comedy, On the Piste, is back for a second run in a major new production that receives a Christmas season in Hull ahead of a UK winter tour. The new production, also directed by Godber, opens tonight at the Hull Truck Theatre where it continues until 12 January 2002. It will then tour to another dozen cities up to late April.

Skiing - pastime of the rich and royal, the upwardly mobile, the enthusiastic and...Chris. A luminous duvet on skis, Chris is not so much a beginner as a non-starter who gets stuck in snow drift with a secondhand car salesman. And he's being shown up sex god and ex-ski champ Tony. Everything is in the balance - pride, dignity, love and Chris himself - as the action snowballs towards the final challenge.

On the Piste had a successful West End run in 1992. The new production is designed by Pip Leckenby, with lighting by Graham Kirk and costumes by John Boddy. The cast includes Dan O'Brien, Jacqueline Taylor, Mark Linnock, Dawn Finnerty, Loveday Smith and Adrian Buchet.

Following Hull, On the Piste continues to Salford, Scunthorpe, York, Preston, Darlington, Huddersfield, Worcester, Kendal, Buxton, Harrogate, Wakefield and London.
