Midnight Tango returns to West End in February

Midnight Tango, starring Strictly Come Dancing’s Vincent Simone and Flavia Cacace, is returning to the West End next February for a five-week run at the Phoenix Theatre.

Co-produced by former Strictly judge Arlene Phillips, the show was created and choreographed by Simone and Cacace, both Italian, who are joined on stage by a company of ten other tango dancers.

It played a limited season at the Aldwych Theatre from 20 January to 31 March 2012, and returns to the West End ahead of its third UK tour.

Currently at the Phoenix, long-running musical Blood Brothers continues until 10 November. It’s followed by a Christmas run of Goodnight Mister Tom, from 22 November to 26 January.

The transfer of Broadway musical Once is rumoured to be opening at the Phoenix in March.

Midnight Tango} is directed by Karen Bruce, designed by Morgan Large and lit by James Whiteside. Live music is provided by Tango Siempre, featuring vocalist Guillermo Rozenthuler. It’s produced by Arlene Phillips and Adam Spiegel.

The new UK tour kicks off in Eastbourne from  13 to 16 March 2013 and will visit Norwich, Woking, Southend, Bath, Nottingham, Wycombe, Birmingham, Newcastle, Truro, Cardiff, Hull, Northampton, Canterbury, Manchester and Leeds.
