It will hardly be the biggest surprise in theatreland when the Chichester Festival Theatre revival of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd, starring Michael Ball and Imelda Staunton, announces a West End transfer. The big questions are when and where. Well, Whatsonstage.com has learnt that producers are hoping to bring it to town in February/March 2012, and that the likely destination is the Adelphi (where One Man, Two Guvnors runs from 8 November to 25 February).

But whenever, and wherever, the production lands it'll be a welcome return to the West End for Whatsonstage.com Award-winner and perennial audience favourite Michael Ball. And it's safe to say that his new role as the demon barber of Fleet Street could hardly be further removed from big-hearted (and chested) Edna Turnblad!
