To celebrate Friday the 13th tomorrow, the team behind the Monty Python musical Spamalot is selling 13 seats in row 13 of the balcony for the "invitation only" opening night at the West End’s Palace Theatre next Tuesday 17 October 2006 (it opens to the press the previous night, 16 October). The tickets will be released tomorrow morning, and the lucky 13 will be joining a packed house of celebrity guests – including the original Monty Pythons (including writer Eric Idle), Cilla Black, Cliff Richard, Hank Azaria, Richard E Grant, Eddie Izzard, Stephen Fry, Jerry Hall, Gary Lineker, Brian May, Jeremy Irons, Richard Griffiths and Maria and Sonia Friedman - for the star-studded opening night. The new musical - “lovingly ripped off from the motion picture Monty Python and the Holy Grail”, written by Python Eric Idle and directed by Mike Nichols - has been a runaway success since it opened on Broadway last year, winning three Tony Awards. To join the opening night audience, call the Palace Theatre Box Office on 0870 890 0142.
