Underneath the Lintel, American Glen Berger’s play about a Danish librarian, is aiming for a West End season from next February. First seen Off-Broadway in 2001, the solo piece has had several incarnations in the US, including a production earlier this year at New Jersey’s George Street Playhouse starring The West Wing’s Richard Schiff. Inspired by Yiddish music from the 1920s, Berger’s play centres on the librarian whose search for 113-year overdue book sets him on a life-changing quest.
