When was the last time you saw a Puerto Rican musical? If you haven't yet, you may not have to wait too long to rectify the matter. Plans are underway to bring Murderous Instincts, a hit in PR last year, to the UK stage in 2004. Set over a weekend, the musical revolves around a family whose mother and grown children fight about inheritances and lost dreams in the wake of the father's death. Murderous Instincts features a salsa score by Alberto Carrión, with book and lyrics by Cinda Fox. The UK premiere production is scheduled for a regional tryout in Norwich next September ahead of hoped-for transfers to the West End and possibly Broadway.
