The Donmar Warehouse's winter musical, a new production of Sondheim and Lapine's Into the Woods, will open 16 November 1998, with previews from 6 November, and will run until 14 February 1999.

The 18-strong cast, confirmed this week, is: Michelle Blair, Clare Burt, John Cater, Louise Davidson, Ceri Ann Gregory, Michael N Harbour, Nick Holder, Samantha Lavender, Dilys Laye, Christopher Pizzey, Matthew Rawle, Sheila Reid, Jenna Russell, Caroline Sheen, Sheridan Smith, Sophie Thompson, Tony Timberlake and Zoe Walsham.

The Donmar production is directed by the theatre's associate director John Crowley and co-directed and choreographed by Jonathan Butterell, with design by the award-winning Bob Crowley, lighting by Paul Byant and sound by John A Leonard.
