Michelle Collins has revealed she is set to star in a West End revival of The Graduate.

Collins, famed for EastEnders, told the Evening Standard: "I'm 52 so I need a challenge. I'm doing The Graduate revival in the West End in January. It will be an honour to play Mrs Robinson."

Terry Johnson's stage adaptation of the iconic film premiered in the West End in 2000, running for two years.

Kathleen Turner originated the role of the sultry Mrs Robinson on stage, and was succeeded by Jerry Hall.

Collins became a household name playing Cindy Beale in EastEnders. She has subsequently appeared a number of times on stage, most recently in The Glass Supper at Hampstead Theatre.

She told WhatsOnStage recently she was in "early talks" to play Mrs Robinson.

No further details have been confirmed for The Graduate, but you will of course read them here first when they are.
