NT’s sell-out Curious Incident plots West End transfer?

Following a report from Baz Bamigboye in the Daily Mail today, there are
rumours circulating that Marianne Elliott‘s acclaimed production of {The
Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time::L746974489}
will transfer from
the National Theatre to another West End venue.

The show opened last month and has been enjoying a sell-out run at the
NT Cottesloe. Adapted from Mark Haddon’s novel by playwright Simon Stephens, Curious
Incident
stars Luke Treadaway as autistic 15-year-old Christopher
Boone on a mission to unravel the mystery of the death of his
neighbour’s dog.

The Mail reports, however, that there are concerns the show’s complex design and lighting
effects will be difficult to adapt to regular West End houses; perhaps
Bamigboye’s suggestion for the National to buy or build its own theatre in
the heart of the West End could soon be on the cards…
