The Menier Chocolate Factory in Southwark has announced the cast for its revival of Stephen Sondheim‘s musical Merrily We Roll Along which opens on 28 November 2012 (previews from 16 November).

With the directorial debut by triple Olivier award-winning actress Maria Friedman, the production’s cast includes Damian Humbley (The Last Five Years, Little Shop of Horrors) as Charley Kringas, Jenna Russell (Guys and Dolls, Sunday In The Park With George) as Mary Flynn, Mark Umbers (Sweet Charity, My Fair Lady) as Franklin Shephard, Josefina Gabrielle (Sweet Charity, Hello Dolly), Clare Foster (Finding Neverland, Crazy For You), Glyn Kerslake (Miss Saigon, The Phantom Of The Opera) and Zizi Strallen (Rock Of Ages, Dirty Dancing).

The cast is completed by Matthew Barrow, Martin Callaghan, Amanda Minihan, Amy Ellen Richardson and Robbie Scotcher.

Merrily We Roll Along is based on the 1934 play of the same name by George S. Kaufman and Moss Hart, which scrolls back through the career of talented composer Franklin Shepard, who abandons his friends, family and Broadway songwriting career to become a Hollywood producer. As key moments of his life are replayed, decisions, choices, priorities and the price of success are equally reevaluated.

The Menier Chocolate Factory is offering a range of prices for the show, from discounted preview tickets to Premier seats.

Merrily We Roll Along runs at the Menier Chocolate Factory until 23 February 2013.
